The week in review

In this week's news:
  • Central Texas experiences record heat, with no rain. When I leave for work, it's about 80 degrees already (mind you, this was not even the high in Cali). On the drive home, the temp ranges from 99-104. And really, it doesn't cool off until I pull into the driveway.

  • Non-profits being audited left and right. Work is busy with site reviews, audits, and trainings. But for once, I am actually caught up with everything.

  • Supervisors aren't the brightest colors. We anticipate that D's shift will be crappy. Why? Because the supervisors could care less about keeping employees happy. The shift could change day to day, hour to hour. I hope that sales suck and they get bitten in the ars.

  • Allergies are on the rise. D is seeing the makings of a cold but has jumped right on it. Hopefully, it will pass soon and not pass along....

  • Quitting is cool now. I've tried too many times to count but am trying again. To quit smoking, that is. It's actually been going pretty well. Which reminds me that I need more lozenges.

  • Movie Reviews. Ratings 1-5 stars (5=good, in case you didn't know) First, The Bucket List -- funny and touching. 4 Stars. The Happening -- the ending is disappointing (and predictable in these times). 2.5 Stars. Sex and the City -- excellent and worth several more views. 5 Stars. Indiana Jones -- should have left it at the Last Crusade. 2 Stars. The Strangers -- I screamed, nuff said. 4 Stars. Check back next week for a review of Kung Fu Panda, in a theater near you.

That's the news from our area, now let's see what's happening in your neck of the woods......
